Time Disease Health Advisory

Time Disease

Dear readers, once again it is necessary to issue a health care advisory to our lovely community. This threat is one that has had a devastating effect in the Vanilla World. Initially, reports indicated that this disease was contained in the Vanilla World with no signs of cross-over into our community. Unfortunately, recent evidence suggests that this is no longer the case. I now have to advise our community of the threat called  “Time Disease.”

The symptoms of Time Disease in its advanced stages are a complete lack of time to attend to personal needs of the couple because that time is now allocated to other things. Time Disease is insidious because the early symptoms are often ignored. These symptoms can be any or all of the following.

  • Bringing work home from the office
  • Over-prioritizing household chores
  • Engaging in "simple" home renovations (I have written before on this one)
  • Helping someone else with a "simple" home renovation.
  • Helping a friend with a "sick" computer (there is no such thing as a quick fix)
  • Watching episodic television shows after 7:00 PM
  • Hobbies for your “spare time” (there is no such thing as “spare time”)
  • Growing engagement with people who have “issues” (those issues show up at the worst times)
  • Watching the NFL, CFL, NBA, NHL, WWF, Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune
  • Computer games more than 20 minutes a day
  • On-line chat more than 30 minutes a day

There are many other symptoms but space does not permit listing them. I think my readers get the idea. Each of these things only takes a "little time" but before you know it, there is no time left at all. We wake up, deal with Time Disease and then hit the bed exhausted only to sleep and wake to repeat the cycle.

In the vanilla world, Time Disease has resulted in millions of North American couples with time only for everything else and no time for themselves. This is not a good thing in our community at all. The next thing a couple realizes is that there is no time for them. The time they used to have to play and enjoy each other has suddenly disappeared. Where did it go? The culprit is Time Disease.

How does one stop Time Disease? The solution is the responsibility of the dominants. It is up to dominants to maintain the priorities of the domain. The dominants must be diligent in defending the domain against all threats. The dominant cannot afford to be a "nice guy" when it comes to Time Disease. Time Disease specializes in exploiting the "nice guy" vulnerability. This disease makes sure that the "nice guy" finishes dead last. This is not a spot for a dominant to be in. The dominant must make sure that even the first signs of Time Disease are given the hospitality that one would give a cockroach.
