MINUTES
Claudia had distributed the minutes of the last meeting by email too late for them to be read by all. To save time at this meeting, April minutes will be reviewed at June meeting.
TREASURERS REPORT
Fisherman will send out the written report by email, but gave some highlights.
Wild West figures: attendance at 78 people brought in about $1100 and the auction brought in $330; rental cost $500, decoration $50, and 26 posters were an extra cost. For stock, (keychains) we paid Bound to Please $240. Hemp rope was another recent purchase, by the pound, paid $84 for 460 feet.
BIO conference expenses for Sagacity $1170.00 with $450 coming in from individuals attending, and $250 from BIO so cost to Sagacity about $500. Donation to Sagacity from anonymous person. towards Conference, $100.
Claudia moved and Polar seconded that the treasurer’s report be accepted. PASSED
BIO CONFERENCE OF KINK REPORT
Nine Sagacity crew went over, and one Vancouver Sagacity member attended. Celia, Mathieu, Randy, Samvega, Cris, Tali, Rhonda, the Fishes. Ladyfish’s workshop went fine, opposite a highly popular workshop. Overall impression: Sagacity performed obligations well, being on time, friendly, handing out cards etc. Would not do it again without more compensation. Sleep loss throughout weekend, not offered anything there, conflicting instructions. Not given the promised recognition in literature or in public talk.
LIBRARY
Garden of Eden ordered new books in, asking Fish’s advice on BDSM books. These are now in. Twenty percent discount to Sagacity. We can budget $250 for books. Fish would like to see library totes brought to meeting one or two times a month. Decision to bring one tote of best books to third Tuesday meetings; other than that, the catalogue will be available. Mathieu and Celia will draft library policy.
LOTTERY LICENSE
License was refused because our board is not an elected board.
EMAIL LIST
The server died, email addresses added since December were lost. Fish will post a whip crack on the website explaining what happened.
WILD WEST PARTY
Dom Auction: Female doms go for higher prices – males seen as more threatening. Theme parties require a lot of planning and preparation. The Dom Auction required rounding up people to sell their services in time to prepare the write-ups for the sale, and with drop-outs there is a lot of pressure.
Problem with camera rule: Clarification will be made in printed rules. No cameras at Sagacity events. Official photographer will not go on playroom floor at all, because the camera flash can be disturbing to people at a distance, creating fears that cameras are loose in the room. When the official photographer is at a party, his presence will be announced and explained.
We must go back to pushing rules again, at parties. An 11”x17” laminated copy of the rules will be posted at the Timekeeper’s station and other places at parties.
Viewing area: drinking and snacks okay there, but no drinks to be carried into the lobby as not covered by the license.
The Branding Corral required an extra garbage can, meaning we were short one; Fisherman will buy a third that fits with the others for easy transport.
DOMLANDER PARTICIPANTS PARTY
May 20th Travellers costs Sagacity $350, room rents at $175. We were planning on sixty people but there could be more. Will run from 8:00 PM to midnight, not to 1:00 AM.
Claudia will sit at the door and take names, but no guest list. Set up to be done by the usual people. No security people, just the front door person so everyone must be watchful. Polar needs to set up a team of three or more to clean equipment beforehand as it’s been used at BIO.
BEACH PARTY
Wet t-shirt contest, need kiddy pool. Heather and Mathieu have one.
Teacup will be asked to handle the prizes.
Contests start at 9:00 PM, may go for over a half hour. Play floor opens at 8:00 PM, goes til floor clears for contests, then start again at 9:30-10:00, however it goes. Decoration will be the blow-up palm trees etc, that we already have. Security handled as usual.
PIRATE ADVENTURE
Not all deposits are in. The Fishes and Cris will get a clear list of situation.
EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE
The equipment will soon need maintenance and repair. We will choose a date in September, as it’s an outdoor job.
SUBSCRIPTION TO SAGACITY EVENTS
Will not be carried further at present, because on June 1st, Fisherman is moving to Seattle for work during the week.
JULY EVENTS
A date was kept open for a D&D but this party will probably be dropped because of Fisherman being less available for all his usual tasks. We will ask how many want to have the summer family barbecue, and if there is enough interest, ask for a volunteer to organize it, because Ladyfish will not be available for running it this year.
ADJOURNED
Polar moved we adjourn at 10:15 PM
