My Eyes
My eyes betray the secret
They speak the words that won’t form on my lips
Even as I stand with rope in hand
The very picture of confidence, the ruler of his domain
My mind races
It’s quite apparent that I understand nothing
Tonight my hands will comfort
Even as they inflict pain
How can I do this?
Hurting, then cradling, the one that I love
It’s right, and it’s wrong
It’s controlled, and it’s insane
For me, or for her?
It’s quite apparent that I understand nothing
Is it mine, is it hers?
Is it both of us combined?
I’m nothing without her
Just a shell, empty and adorned.
She knows, I can see it
Her eyes hold me
Firmer than any bounds I can tie
She’s helpless, yet she’s strong
She resists and I grow stronger
My confidence is born of her will
The trappings are nothing
My eyes tell the story
