Call for Submissions

Sagacity of Victoria is now accepting submissions for their forthcoming Birthday Bash Art show on November 7-8, 2008. Sagacity members are invited to submit work (photos, drawings, paintings, sculpture, multimedia) in any format that celebrates kink, fetish, and alternative lifestyles. Send submissions queries to this year's art show curator, Rod Hood.

Sagacity members wishing to show work will be given priority over the general public provided that their submissions are received by October 1, 2007. Deadline for the general public is October 17, 2007. Members submitting work after October 1 will be considered with any submissions from the general public.

Submission requirements are as follows:

1. Artists are to submit a photograph of their work in jpeg format to Rod. The email should include:

1. artists name and a contact telephone number
   
2. title of the piece
   
3. description of medium (oil, painting, sculpture, photography, etc.)
   
4. size of the work including any frame.
   

2. Those artists whose pieces are chosen will be notified by October 31 that their work(s) will be shown.
3. Artists may submit up to five pieces for consideration. The show will be assembled to feature as many artists as possible. We will start with one piece from each artist and add as needed to fill the show.
4. The curator in conjunction with Sagacity retains the right to hang or not hang any piece of work. Sagacity in conjunction with curator retains sole artistic freedom in choosing each piece for the show.
5. Artists hanging work will be required to sign a waiver releasing Sagacity and the curator from any loss through damage, theft, or negligence.
6. Artists will be required to deliver their works to the show site on November 7, 2008 before noon. Artists unable to meet this commitement must make prior arrangements with the curator for delivery of their work.
7. The curator retains sole discretion to hang each piece. Artists will not be allowed to hang their own work.
8. Sagacity will vend art for a 20% commission.
