Having been abandoned on the street at the age of 4 so that my parents would be able to follow the Grateful Dead free from the obligations of parenthood I have always had attachment difficulties. My love of photography is rooted in that abandonment as it allows me to place a lens between myself and the people I interact with--effectively maintaining distance. My current photographic subjects are the product of my separation and divorce 4.5 years ago. I had always wanted to do nude work and it seemed to me that, being a bachelor (and not a 22-year-old hormone-driven idiot), the time for that was ripe. I did a couple of shoots and discovered that not only could I photograph well but I have great "camera-side manners" and can easily make complete strangers feel very comfortable despite the fact that they are nude.
One of the people that I photographed wanted to do some bondage shots. I got a book, figured out some basic ties and liked the results very much. I got another book and my ties got more interesting. I got another book and a new partner and my personal life got more interesting...a lot more interesting!
Almost 5 years later I have a small library of books, a cupboard full of props, and I find myself enjoying and exploring the world of kink as a very active participant. Part of my ongoing exploration is photography. I continue to create images that reflect me and my tastes and I continue to be blessed with opportunities to meet new people and photograph a part of their personal worlds--a joy and a privilege!
I am always seeking new photographic clients and am currently seeking a muse... Interested parties may write to me!
